Kids Talk Speech Pathology offers speech pathology services to children and their families. We are located in the inner south Brisbane suburb of Morningside.

Kids Talk Speech Pathology is dedicated to providing a high quality service for children who have speech, language and communication difficulties.  We work with parents in a family centred approach in order to enhance your child’s communication skills so that children are able to achieve their potential.

WHAT WE DO

Kids Talk Speech Pathology provides assessment, diagnosis and intervention for children who have difficulty with their development of communication and/or literacy skills. We work with children who experience difficulty with:

  • understanding language

  • expressive language

  • speech sound production and articulation

  • social interaction

  • fluency (stuttering)

  • reading, writing and spelling

We can liaise with your child's school, kindergarten or childcare centre to provide a holistic service for your child.

OUR SERVICES

Assessment:  A comprehensive assessment investigates your child's speech, language and communication skills using a combination of formal and informal assessment tools. Appointments are one hour long and assessments may require one or two appointments. The number of appointments required will depend on your child's age and the areas of communication that require investigation.

We also offer literacy assessments for children who are having challenges with learning to read, write and spell.

Following the assessment, we discuss the results and recommendations with you and provide a written report.

Intervention (therapy):  We set individual goals jointly with parents that focus on enhancing your child’s communication skills. Intervention sessions are individualised and tailored to your child’s strengths, specific needs and interests. Therapy also involves parent and caregiver education so that parents are supported to help their children at home.

Our sessions are play based to ensure children can develop their speech and language skills in a fun and interactive way. Table top activities are used with older children.
